Running a Sale on Clover® Mini or Clover Mobile

Running a Sale on Clover® Mini or Clover Mobile Insert the card chip-first into the top of the Clover system. For mobile wallet payments, tap the mobile device to the screen of the Clover system. If the payment type is not EMV capable, slide the magnetic stripe across the top of the system. Then, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the transaction.

Running a Refund on Clover Mini or Clover Mobile

Processing a refund can be done in three different ways. Either look up the past transaction in the Transaction Log, scan a receipt into the Transaction Log, or issue a “blind refund” from the Manual Transactions app. Once you find the transaction or enter the amount you’d like to refund, select the “Refund” button and follow the prompts to complete the transaction.

Select the “Closeout” button in the bottom left corner of the screen. Review current batches and adjust tips as necessary, then select “Closeout” to place your batch in the queue for processing. Press “OK” to complete your batch closeout.

Running a Sale on Clover Station

Attach and download the FD-40 PIN pad, then select “Charge on PIN Pad” to initiate an EMV transaction. To process a mobile wallet payment, tap the phone to the PIN pad. For smart cards, insert the card into the PIN pad. Once the card is verified, the customer will sign on the screen or on a printed receipt depending on your Clover setup.

Running a Refund on a Clover Station

To run a refund, go to the Orders app and find the order that needs to be refunded. Select “Exchange/Refund” items, select the items that need to be refunded, and follow the directions on-screen to complete the transaction. To run a blind refund that is not attached to an order, use the Manual Transactions app, enter the amount of the refund, and follow the directions on-screen to complete the transaction.

To batch out your Clover Station, open the “Orders” application. Select the “Close Out Orders” button in the top left corner of the screen. Verify whether you want to batch out by pressing “Closeout.” Press “OK” to complete your batch closeout.

Running a Sale on a VX520

Press the F2 key on the VX520 next to the word “Sale.” Key in the amount of the transaction and press the green “Enter” button. Have the customer insert their card chip-first into the PIN pad, or for mobile wallet payments, tap the mobile device to the screen of the system. After a brief pause, the system will direct the customer to remove their card and a receipt for the transaction will print.

To cancel a transaction processed on the same day, press the grey “F” key next to the word “Void.” Choose whether to cancel the previous transaction or search by the invoice number printed on the receipt. Once you’ve found the right transaction, select “Yes” to void the transaction and print a customer receipt.

Batching Out a VX520

Select the purple key at the bottom left corner of the VX520 screen. Four new options will appear on the screen. Press the F2 key next to the word “Settlement” to start the batch transmission and print out a batch report.
