A Contribution to Curing Cancer

Irvine, CA; Jan. 2012 – Merchant Services, an Alliance Partner of SBGA, recently donated $500 to the American Cancer Society, one of ten charities selected to receive a donation from the Irvine-based company.


Merchant Services has a strong history of giving back to the community and this year is no exception.  Following dozens of contributions to local, national and international charitable organizations throughout 2011, the company opened 2012 by selecting ten charities to receive $500 each.


“The idea stemmed from our desire to personalize our Corporate Giving program with our Sales Team by contributing funds to the causes that are most important to them,” shared Vice President of Merchant Services Nathan Jurczyk. “So we asked them to submit the name of their favorite charity or non-profit group and held a drawing to select the final ten recipients.  We were thrilled with the outpouring of passion and enthusiasm and their clear desire to be involved in the giving process.”


The American Cancer Society uses donations to fund prevention programs and awareness campaigns. These programs are designed to promote wellness and health through every phase of life. From early school health programs to active adult programs, the American Cancer Society is determined to raise cancer awareness, education, and prevention.


The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
