Fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease

Irvine, CA; Jan. 2012 – Merchant Services, an Alliance Partner of SBGA, announces it will be donating $500 to Phi Delta Theta, the fraternity that famed baseball player Lou Gehrig once called home.  The Phi Delta Theta organization is a strong supporter in the fight against ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

 

Since their inception in 1995, Merchant Services has been committed to giving back to those in need. Its team continues to partner with multiple local, national and international organizations to meet their vision of continuously acting in a socially responsible manner, through the investment of hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations to community strengthening organizations.

 

“We are proud to support the work of Phi Delta Theta in their efforts to raise funds in the fight against ALS,” shared Bob Parisi, Senior Vice President of Merchant Services. “Their numerous fundraising campaigns throughout the year are to be commended and their commitment to this cause is admirable.”

 

Established in 1985, The ALS Association is leading the way in global research for Lou Gehrig’s Disease.  They provide assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinate multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and foster government partnerships. The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life for those suffering from ALS while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.
